What I learned today new was that Islamophobia existed and also it didn't start during 9/11 but rather it occurred in the middle ages due to the Christian crusades claim negative views towards Muslims to promote the Christian religion rather than the Muslim religion. I had assumed Islamophobia had occurred after 9/11 and that is why they received negative backlash after, but after a few years, I had assumed the backlash had subsided not that it was still occurring today. What interest me the most is how we are still using a religion negatively in our political system when our government should not incorporate or show any favoritism for a single religion
